The Pope and Islam: Provoking the Muslim World

Video: Pope Benedict has incited the fury of the Muslim world. All the hard work of reconciliation engineered by Vatican Council II and John Paul II has been wrecked by the public relations disaster of the Pope’s ”quotation’ of Mohammed as the father of violence. Whether innocent or deliberate, the remark turned the Pope and the Catholic Church into the ”enemy” of Islam. However, many people in the West believed that the Pope spoke the truth and regretted his apology. Are the old wars of religion about start again? Is Islam intrinsically more violent than either Judaism or Christianity? What is the future of the Pope?
